A review of current treatment options and types of patients who benefit from them
I'd like to know what is being done to modulate the microbiome that is helping in post-infectious chronic conditions like long covid
I always see treatment discussions for migraines and never tension headaches. They are debilitating and everyday. What are treatment options?
I'm interested to know the most important tests that can be run that are relevant in detecting the damage and likely treatment paths for LC. Examples include testing for mitochondria, viral reactivation, viral persistence, and gut health.
Would like to know your feelings on brain-body work. Is it legit? Worth the hundreds to thousands of dollars?
I have taken paxlovid for reinfections. It saved me from falling back into the abyss. I was only able to access it through a trial/travelling to Germany. We MUST convince policy makers to make it available to long covid patients. We need clear messaging/evidence that it helps. My own personal experience is that it helped immensely. I have no idea how I will access it when I am inevitably next infected.
Discuss mechanism of action such as immunemodulation and atophagy of spike protein.
Peptides - relationship to the body, why new area of possibility, why not all FDA approved if in the body, and what peptides are being used for Long Covid.
Causes/mechanisms of chronic symptoms such as headaches, nerve pain, hair loss, brain fog, PEM, etc. and low risk treatments such as LDN or other options.
Would love to see either new antivirals specifically for Sars-Cov-2 or the use of repurposed HIV antivirals to address the root cause of viral persistence. China has had success with Azuvadine for example.
Thoughts on abilify? especially for someone who has med reactions such as RLS & akathisia. Is it still worth a try at a low dose for someone desperate (very severe).
I’d like to know if it’s possible to move to a state where it’s possible to have some QOL (mod/mild) after being very severe for many years. Especially when reactions to medications are high. What could someone in that state try?
The various effects of long covid on these three adjacent topics would be a very helpful education to many people. I was an athlete with no issues pre covid. Now, I show evidence of hypoglycemia, insulin resistance, but not diabetic. It’s all very confusing!!! Also, in case I can’t submit multiple ideas after this one - (1) hormones would be another great one (DURCH Panel revealed I’m making basically no hormones of any kind) - all confusing; and (2) peptides - relationship to the body, why new area, why not all FDA approved if in the body, and what’s being used for Long Covid. Thank you!
How Lyme disease can be handled by the immune system until something else (Covid, vaccines) comes along and ends up in long Covid. And how to navigate doctors - some say everything is Lyme and others say it doesn't exist unless you had a rash.
Clinicians choose 3 cases to walk through their thought process
The care for kids (under 18) with long covid is woefully poor. RTHM won't see these patients. There are only a handful of legitimate long covid care clinics nationally. And good luck at the local level. I would like the addressed head on.
I would like to know what the newest treatment options are and the thought process behind them. I would also like to know what symptoms the new treatment options help.
